Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Odontologia) - Departamento de Ciências da Saúde, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2022.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/46141Burning mouth syndrome (BMS) is defined as a burning sensation mainly on the tongue, palate and/or gingiva or in another region of the oral mucosa, in the absence of a specific oral lesion. It is characterized by a continuous, spontaneous, and intense burning sensation. The etiology is poorly understood, although new evidence of neurological, emotional and hormonal changes is related to BMS. The aim of this study was to investigate which treatment has the greatest effect on Burning Mouth Syndrome. The literature search was carried out from 2009 to 2019, with the following terms: “Burning mouth syndrome”; “Burning mouth” (burning mouth); “Treatments” (treatments). Cross-sectional, case-control and cohort studies carried out in humans were used as search criteria. A total of 187 articles were found, of which 23 were selected at the end of the process. After analyzing the works, it is observed that the treatments of laser therapies are still the ones with the highest results, followed by non-pharmacological treatments, acupuncture and drug treatments.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/SíndromeSyndromeArdor bucalTratamentoBurning mouthTreatmentTratamento da síndrome da ardência bucal: uma revisão integrativaTreatment of burning mouth syndrome: an integrative reviewbachelorThesis
