It is a scoping review, based on the PCC strategy (population, concept, and context), conducted in databases such as LILACS, CINAHL, MEDLINE, Scopus, BDENF, ColecionaSUS, and PubMed. A total of 8,036 studies were identified, of which 52 were selected for full reading and 14 comprised the final sample. The results showed that factors such as effective communication, proper staffing, establishment of standardized protocols, adequate human and material resources, and ongoing education programs contribute to the safety of nursing prescriptions. Thus, the implementation of the Nursing Process (NP), use of checklists, active leadership, computerized prescription systems, and continuous team training proved to be effective strategies for improving safety and quality of care.
