It is argued, throughout the text, the advent of modern dance, its assumptions and how the studies developed by Laban, as a significant exponent of this dance can in a sense help to think about methodological strategies for the classical ballet school mainly in the stage of childhood, to the extent that one can question the traditional methodology of teaching hegemonically present in the pedagogical practice of those who teach this technique. Then we discuss about the teacher's role of Classical Ballet front teaching methodology of this dance. As a theoretical contribution in the field of epistemology of fundamented in dance at Laban (1990); Ossona (1988); Portinari (1989). This is a qualitative study, which considers the author's teaching experience in the course of their work with the teaching of Ballet.
