The wastewater generated by the textile sector, in general, present a high polluting load, due to the great presence of chemicals and the high concentration of total solids. One of the industry-wide methods used for the treatment of these effluents is Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF), which corresponds to a phase separation method widely used in effluent and water treatment, which consists in the separation of suspended particles by their adherence to microbubbles.This process should be preceded by a pretreatment: coagulation and / or floculation as these steps guarantee a greater flotation efficiency. The objective of this work was to perform the design of an DAF system for textile effluents, using as a reference the model developed by Edzwald (1990) taking into account local temperature and pressure conditions, as well as flow and quality of the generated textile effluents in the textile industries located in Rio Grande do Norte. After sizing, the system was designed taking into account the availability of materials in the market, construction and easy access for system maintenance.
