Religião, consumo e comunicação: uma análise sob a perspectiva da Igreja do Amor. 2019. 83f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Comunicação Social - Publicidade e Propaganda) - Departamento de Comunicação Social, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2019.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/34439The present work is a case study, having the Church of Love, located in Paulista (PE) as the object of analysis, since the research developed aims to understand how this church, inserted in the consumer society, relates religion, consumption and communication. . Therefore, before conducting the analysis of the Church of Love, we sought in the bibliographical research the theoretical basis to support our reflections. Thus, from authors and authors of sociology, studies of religion and communication, specifically from the point of view of religious marketing strategies, we understand the origin of the Pentecostal movement in Brazil and the development of neopentecostal churches. Moreover, we understand how Prosperity Theology is the foundation of these churches and dialogues directly with the media to broaden the mission of "going and preaching the gospel to every creature." Thus, we use authors such as Featherstone (1995), Mariano (1996), Campos (2005), Patriota (2008) and Amorim (2017). At the end of the paper, in summary, we understand that the Church of Love uses marketing and communication strategies focused on the individual, so that its entire structure is designed in specific niches of people. In parallel, we understand that online media, especially social media, is an integral part of the church, as well as the development of products and events that seek to reverberate doctrine beyond the temple.
