However, to ensure its optimal performance or to recover these properties in challenging operational environments, such as in the oil and gas industry, a potential solution lies in performing heat treatments. This study investigates the microstructure and microhardness of 5083 H112 alloy samples subjected to solution treatment and aging at different temperature and time combinations. Analyses were conducted using scanning electron microscopy (SEM-FEG with EBSD and EDS), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Vickers microhardness testing to analyze how changes in the crystalline structure affect mechanical properties. The results indicate that the original sample, partially strain-hardened by rolling, showed signs of incomplete recrystallization, Al-a grains with high magnesium content in solid solution, suggesting a metastable state, along with Mg-rich precipitates and the Al6(Fe, Mn) phase. Solubilized samples exhibited grain growth due to thermal activation and restoration of the original hardened material's crystal structure. On the other hand, samples aged under different conditions showed a higher quantity of precipitates Al6Fe compared to others, increasing microhardness over time.
