A cross-sectional, quantitative, and observational study was conducted on the Santa Cruz/RN campus. Data collection occurred online and in person on socioeconomic and demographic issues, in addition to food consumption in the school cafeteria and surroundings. Food insecurity was assessed using the Brazilian Food Insecurity Scale (EBIA). Data were analyzed by the PSPP program through simple frequency and percentage. A total of 119 students participated in the study; of these, 46.4% reported purchasing food in the school cafeteria and surroundings. Most students consume processed and ultra-processed foods, such as fried and baked snacks, and soft drinks, and have a lower consumption of natural foods.
