This disease is caused by the association of numerous factors, mainly organic, genetic and emotional, which requires a change in the lifestyle of those who are facing the problem. Its treatment consists of diets and physical exercises, but in some cases it is necessary to intervene in drugs or surgical. Among the pharmacological options, sibutramine is the most used drug in the treatment of obesity, acting in the inhibition of the reception of norepinephrine and serotonin in hypothalamic sites, where it acts in the regulation of food intake. A retrospective, descriptive and exploratory study was conducted with a quantitative approach, in which 75 notifications of sibutramine were analyzed in the period March to August 2021. Of which, 76% correspond to female users and 24% to males. The inconsistencies identified were omission of age (9.33%), absence of justification for use (6%) and prescription outside the age allowed by current legislation (1.33%). The importance of the pharmacist is reinforced in the careful analysis of the documents necessary for the dispensing of sibutramine and in the orientation regarding the conscious consumption of medications, given the risks of abuse of drugs to lose weight, since the study detected a high incidence by this class of medication, it is important to adequately control the use of these anorethics as currently recommended by regulatory agencies.ObesidadeNotificaçãoSibutraminaObesityNotificationSibutraminebachelorThesis
