The objective of this work is to analyze the practices related to inventory management in the organizational context of micro and small companies according to the academic production directed to the Brazilian case. For this, a systematic review of the literature was carried out, using the Google Scholar database based on a systematic review protocol. The research is classified as basic, descriptive and quantitative. As for the scope of the study, the approach is in the academic production linked to the study of micro and small companies, and as for the data analysis plan, it took place through the application of the search string in the database and recovery of the documents, followed by the application of a systematic review protocol. As for data analysis, the research refers to a documental analysis and frequency distribution. The main results listed by the study concern the management practices of identified stocks, their periodicity, the type of institution of affiliation of the authors, the place of affiliation, the region of the place of affiliation, the type of publication, the index of links of the articles, the area of activity of the organizations and the benefits provided with the application of these practices. A greater intensity of publication was evidenced in 2020, most authors are linked to public institutions and located in the Southeast region and the publication strategy more predominant was the publication in academic events.
