Natal, RN, 2022.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/45837The Hospital Pharmacy is considered a clinical, administrative and economical unit, equipped to provide the clinics and other services with medicines and other products, directed by a pharmacist, hierarchically linked to the direction of the hospital or health service and functionally integrated with the other administrative and patient care units. The objective of this study was to verify the minimum standards necessary for the operation of a hospital pharmacy in a pediatric hospital and whether these parameters are executed. This is a descriptive case study with a qualitative approach. Initially, a survey of specific information on minimum standards was carried out, divided into three groups: minimum parameters for environments, minimum parameters for equipment and utensils, and minimum parameters for human resources, taking into account 5 items from each group. The data were collected in the pharmacy of the institution itself, from the collection of data from the pharmacy employees and in the observation of the environment by the author. The information verifications were filled in a checklist that highlights the main topics to base the author in the execution of the work. With the study it was possible to identify that for the minimum parameters for environments 12 items of the 23 required are fully met, which gives a percentage of 52.17%. As for the minimum parameters for equipment and utensils, all items are fully met, which amounts to 100% compliance with the standards for this item, and for the minimum parameters for human resources, only 6 of the 17 items are met, which represents 35.29% of the standards fully implemented.
