The main objective of the study is to understand the pharmacist's role in CAPS AD, assessing the challenges and opportunities in their daily routine. The methodology included a descriptive survey at a CAPS AD in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, where 9 questions related to the pharmacist's activities were asked. The survey results are presented in the form of a table, indicating whether the CAPS fully, partially, or does not meet each question. Of the 9 questions, 1 was common as not reporting, 4 were classified as partially answered and 4 were classified as fully answered. In conclusion, the study identifies that the pharmacist in CAPS AD plays a crucial role in promoting the mental health of patients by providing quality care, monitoring therapeutic regimens, and contributing to therapeutic success. However, the pharmacist's work faces challenges such as workload overload due to a shortage of professionals, intersectoral coordination issues, and the dependency of vulnerable patients. The study underscores the need for public policies to support disadvantaged patients and the importance of strengthening the pharmaceutical team in CAPS AD.
