However, the understanding of how different scoring methods in SSD interfere with the workload of young athletes still needs further understanding. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the external and internal training load in young soccer players, during the performance of small-sided games with different scoring methods. METHODS: 13 young athletes (age: 14.7 ± 0.4 years; height: 167.1 ± 6.5 cm; weight: 55.5 ± 7.5 kg) performed three different models of SSG: SSG with the objective of maintaining ball possession (PO), SSG with scoring zone (SZ) and SSG with overtaking zone (OZ), for each model there were two training sessions. In this context, the external training load (ETL) was monitored using the PlayerLoad® method and the internal training load (ITL) based on the subjective perception of session effort (PSEsession). RESULTS: The ETL was significantly different between the models (F(24) = 43.387; p ≤ 0.001; ŋ² = 0.78) with the mean values of the PO (369.05 ± 66.6) being the highest values compared to SZ (326.22 ± 50.6) and OZ (288.08 ± 52.92). The mean ITL values also differed significantly between the SSG models (F(24) = 19, 549 ; p = 0.001; ŋ² = 0.62), with the PO (238.69 ± 32.21) presenting the highest values compared to SZ (208.57 ± 32.17) and OZ (187, 38 ± 30.4). CONCLUSION: The SSG scoring methods led to different magnitudes in training loads, with the PO method generating greater demands on CET and CIT. Thus, it is suggested for coaches and conditioning to use the model with the objective of maintaining ball possession for training sessions with higher intensities, while for sessions with lower intensities, the model with overtaking zone could be used.Acesso AbertoCarga de trabalhoFutebolPSE da sessãoPlayerLoadO efeito de diferentes métodos de pontuação sobre a carga externa e interna de treinamento nos jogos reduzidos de futebolExternal and internal training load responses during small-sided games with different scoring methodsmasterThesis
