Despite the efforts made by educators, security teams and the school community, the challenges are still many and combating it requires permanent action. At school, a space where educa-tion, knowledge and the intellectual growth of people are its main objectives, massa-cres occur without a defined cause, in different cities and countries. As the school is a social institution of formal education that brings together many people, with diffe-rent contexts and diverse histories, it is common for divergences and conflicts to exist, therefore, it is important to search for a more welcoming and violence-free en-vironment. Therefore, this work aims to reflect on the role of the pedagogue in the role of pedagogical coordinator, in combating school violence. Carried out through action research, the work incorporates considerations from the material prepared by Fundação Oswaldo Cruz - FIOCRUZ (2023) which deals with the Impacts of School Violence, which helped in the elaboration of the intervention project at the Municipal School Father João Penha Filho. The study revealed that it is still necessary to invest hea-vily in strategies to contain the phenomenon of violence.
