In this context, one of the major concerns of the industry is the cost related to steam generation. Due to this cost, there is a concern in optimizing the amount of steam to be injected, and must be taken into account which part of the heat is lost to the adjacent layers. This work proposes a study of the influence of reservoir thickness and the production interval on the heat loss of a heavy oil reservoir with characteristics of the Potiguar basin in the Brazilian Northeast using an ¼ of inverted five spot. For the simulations, the STARS simulator from CMG Launcher Technologies 2013 was used to study responses such as oil recovery factor, heat loss for all adjacent layers and enthalpy in place. The results showed that, when the reservoir is put into production at its base, there is an anticipation of oil production, due to lower heat losses to adjacent rocks.openAccessInjeção de vapor, Perda de calor, óleo pesado.Steam Injection, Heat Loss, Heavy Oil.A Influência do Intervalo Canhoneado na Perda de Calor Para as Camadas Adjacentes em Reservatórios Submetidos a Injeção de VaporbachelorThesis
