Efeitos do treino resistido para membros superiores em pacientes com doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica. 2016. 19f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Especialização em Fisioterapia Cardiorrespiratória) - Departamento de Fisioterapia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, RN, 2016.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/43862Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is characterized by the presence of obstruction or chronic airflow limitation that is not fully reversible. The purpose of this study was to describe what the literature shows about the training of the upper limbs (UL) in patients with COPD. Most of the difficulties experienced by these patients occur during activities that involve the arms, especially due to the sensation of dyspnea and/or muscle fatigue. In this way, the UL training for patients with COPD is a major component of the pulmonary rehabilitation, as has been observed improvements in function and muscle strength, and resistance to exercise, consequently improves respiratory capacity and stability of rib cage, because the biggest accessory respiratory muscles recruitment. However, the evidences are limited as to the type of training to be adopted. On the available jobs, it was observed that the protocols developed during a longer period, using maximum and submaximal loads, with exercises in functional movements, including upper limbs and Lower, alternately, showed better results in peripheral muscle strength, fatigue, dyspnea and respiratory response, as well as improves the performance of daily life activities and the quality of life of patients COPD. However, the extensive heterogeneity of protocols used and responses to these, it suggests a need for greater research, in search of a training Protocol of peripheral muscle strength suitable for this population.openAccessDoença Pulmonar Obstrutiva CrônicaDPOCExtremidade SuperiorReabilitaçãoFisioterapiaEfeitos do treino resistido para membros superiores em pacientes com doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônicapostGraduateThesis
