In this perspective, proper maintenance is not just a suggested practice but an intrinsic requirement to ensure uninterrupted operation and extend the lifespan of these crucial pieces of equipment. This paper addresses the development of a maintenance plan focused on electrical generators, aiming to optimize operational efficiency and reduce costs associated with unplanned downtime. Based on predictive maintenance techniques, this work aims to analyze the polarization and absorption indices and insulation resistance of four electrical generators before and after thermochromic treatment with VERNIZ LACKTHERM 1314/40h, followed by EPOXY PAINT WEG. After this procedure, the machines were placed in an oven, where controlled-temperature heat treatment was performed at approximately 50ºC for 24 hours. The aforementioned indices were obtained through insulation resistance testing in direct current using the Fluke 1550C megohmmeter, before and after maintenance on the generators. The results were recorded and proved satisfactory, as the insulation resistance values of the generator windings improved, along with the majority of polarization and absorption indices.
