The museum is understood as a space for multiple learning, which stimulates memories and enables teachers and students to see it as a place for teaching, reflection and the construction of historical knowledge. Created on November 16, 2022, by Law n. 383, it has galleries depicting aspects of local history and culture. Its exhibits cover topics such as the formation of the municipality, the passage of Lampião’s band through the region, religiosity, sertanejo culture and the trades of the sertão, through the display of photographs, accessories, tools, clothing, models and other elements. Considering the relationship between museums, schools and history teaching, this research seeks to understand the educational relevance of the Passagem do Freijó Museum in the students educational process, exploring learning possibilities based on the problematization and historicization of the generating objects on display. The field of research is the Edilton Fernandes Elementary School, in Marcelino Vieira-RN. The research is based on documents such as educational laws, minutes of the Municipal Legislature, the school’s PoliticalPedagogical Project, photographic records, the museum’s statutes and guidelines, as well as questionnaires administered to teachers, students and the people responsible for institutionalizing the museum and building up the collection. It is also based on articles, books and dissertations on the subject.
