However, it is a fact that not all parents are able to encourage their children to read or do not have enough time to dedicate themselves to this function, due to the rush of daily life. Faced with these and other difficulties, most parents seek support in extra school support so that private teachers can work on this issue. Based on this, this study aimed to identify the contributions of extra school reinforcement to the learning process of reading children in the early years of elementary school (1st to 5th grade), in public schools in the city of Acari-RN. Therefore, the research methodology is characterized as a case study, whose investigated subjects were five extra school tutors, who answered a semi-structured questionnaire for data collection. From the results obtained, it was possible to conclude that extra school reinforcement is a strategic activity in educational dynamics, where teachers with no capacity in regular schools seek support with their craft. And, however, it is a strategy that can indeed contribute to the reading and writing acquisition process, especially in the case of students with learning difficulties.
