Dissertação (Mestrado em História/Ceres) - Centro de Ensino Superior do Seridó, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/63724This research aims to analyze the Emergency Fronts in the period from 1979 to 1983, through the articles published in the periodicals Diário de Natal and the Poti and the experiences of rural workers in the municipality of Augusto Severo-RN, current municipality of Campo Grande-RN. In this sense, we seek to shed light on a theme that is little explored in Campo-grandense and potiguar historiography: the history of workers who performed services on emergency fronts in the municipality and becomes relevant to our research, as it made it possible to understand the experience and daily work in the construction of emergency programs in periods of drought. From this perspective, we sought to research how the narratives about the drought and the problems of the service fronts had an impact on the periodicals circulating in Rio Grande do Norte and, soon after, to understand the tactics planned by the institutions for the fronts, finally, the experiences of the male and female workers. To this end, our research was based on the concepts of everyday life by Michel de Certeau (1998), experience by Edward Thompson (1981) and collective memory by Maurice Halbwachs (1990). Methodologically, the research was carried out as follows: articles published in the newspapers Diário de Natal, Poti and Revista RN Econômico were analyzed, seeking to understand the circulation of news about corruption in the Emergency Fronts, followed by research in DNOCS and EMATER - RN of the city of Assú in search of the workers' enlistment documents and finally, the photographs of the male and female workers from 1983 and the oral research to access the memories of the workers still alive from the Emergency Fronts. With all this material in hand, we reflect through the lens of content analysis from the perspective of Laurence Bardin (2016), in which we consider carrying out the analyzes using thematic keywords present in newspapers, memorial books and institutional documentation, this analysis is understood through content analysis, as a group of analytical sets based on the search for words in documentary sources and the interpretation of the same sources.
