These professionals need to be kept up to date and this is done through continuing education. In light of this, this paper aims to analyze how post-graduate programs in Information Science in Brazil, have contributed to the continuing education of school librarians. It aims specifically to quantify the graduate programs in Information Science stricto sensu (master's and doctorate), that have courses focused on school libraries; point out the regions in Brazil that are most active in the continuing education of school librarians; identify the names of the disciplines and course outlines that contribute most to the education of the school librarian and verify which themes are presented within the graduate programs that are focused on school libraries.The methodology in turn, is based on the typology of basic research as to its nature; quantitative, as to the way of approaching the problem; descriptive as to the objectives; and a documentary research, as to the procedures. The Sucupira platform was used to access the sites of post-graduate programs in Information Science, for data extraction to quantify the graduate programs in Information Science that collaborate with the continuing education of school librarians, in the course of the survey you see that of the 27 existing graduate programs in Information Science, Only 10 have subjects related to the school library.
