However, it is important to note that there are different types of feet, such as high arches and flat feet, which can have variations in their arches, affecting an individual's posture and gait. To ensure proper distribution of body weight and minimize the risks of injuries and discomfort, it is important to carefully analyze the arches of the feet before crafting custom insoles. When properly crafted, insoles are capable of providing additional support to the feet, offering enhanced stability and cushioning, as well as correcting postural misalignments and relieving pain. The digital image processing becomes a way to analyze the arches of the feet through the use of techniques such as segmentation to isolate specific areas according to the determined characteristics. Given this context, the purpose of this final course project was to develop the first version of an executable software that can run on any operating system. The software's main objective is to assist in a simple and straightforward manner by calculating predefined parameters based on an interview with a physiotherapist. These parameters are used to determine important heights of the medial longitudinal arch when assessing walking videos recorded for gait analysis studies.
