Acelerômetro como ferramenta para análise de movimento de membro superior de pessoas com Esclerose Lateral Amiotrófica: um estudo transversal. Orientadora: Ana Raquel Rodrigues Lindquist. 2023. 39f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Fisioterapia) - Departamento de Fisioterapia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2023.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/53674Accelerometry is a tool that allows the measurement of linear acceleration and, from that, the amount of movement of a structure relative to a reference point, providing important information about the quality of an individual's movement. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of accelerometer variables (ACC) before and after the performance of functional movements of the upper limb in people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). The study consists of a secondary analysis of the development of a machine learning algorithm-controlled orthosis. Seven people with ALS (GE) (59.86±16.32 years) and ten people without ALS (GS) (48.4±4.25 years) were evaluated. The signals were collected during resting phases and correlated with functionality scales (ALSFRS-R/BR) and clinical staging (King's College). The results related to signal amplitude showed a moderate positive correlation with functionality (r=0.55) and a strong positive correlation with staging (r=0.78). Accelerometry is a potential tool for evaluating the amount of movement and may reflect the functionality of individuals with ALS and clinical staging. Thus, it should be considered as a means for remote monitoring of disease progression and therapeutic planning by professionals.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/AcelerometriaEsclerose amiotrófica lateralMembros superioresInstrumentos de avaliaçãoAccelerometryAmyotrophic lateral sclerosisUpper limbsAssessment instrumentsAcelerômetro como ferramenta para análise de movimento de membro superior de pessoas com Esclerose Lateral Amiotrófica: um estudo transversalAccelerometer as a tool for upper limb motion analysis in individuals with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: A cross-sectional study.Accelerometer as a tool for upper limb motion analysis in individuals with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: A cross-sectional study.bachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
