Estudo das propriedades de desempenho ao impacto de tecidos de kevlar impregnados com fluidos não-newtonianos. 2019. 81f. Thus, the fluid was impregnated by diffusion and padding on Kevlar® fabrics which were subsequently dried by padding rollers (under specific time and temperature conditions). Initially, a preliminary study was carried out in which the Silane coupling agent was added to the STF’s in order to study their influence mainly on the results of impact strength, adhesion and flexibility of impregnated Kevlar® layers of fabric. The results obtained demonstrate that addition of the Silane coupling agent provides an increase in strength in the STF response. Reveals improved absorption of impact energy, significant increase in adhesion, reduction in depth of penetration and flexibility. This demonstrates that the use of the Silane coupling agent promotes improved performance of the stab penetration resistance of the protective composite panels. In the results obtained on the different FTS compositions and orientation of the Kevlar fabrics layers, it was evidenced that the impact protection performance depends on the friction between yarns (pullout), adhesion of STF, stab blade geometry and mainly the absorption and dissipation of the residual energy of the impact that, in turn, is directly related to the content of nanoparticles and inversely proportional to the amount of PEG present in the composition of non-Newtonian Fluid.
