Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Ciências Atuariais) - Departamento de Demografia e Ciências Atuariais, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/59488The objective of this work is to analyze the occurrences of robberies and thefts of vehicles (cars, motorcycles and scooters) using descriptive analysis to understand how the dynamics of this violence occurs in the Metropolitan Region of Natal, recorded in the period between 2015 and 2019. This analysis was carried out by distribution of occurrences, using a database from DEPROV - Specialized Police Station for the Defense of Vehicle and Cargo Property, compiled by COINE - Coordination of Statistical Information and Criminal Analysis and worked through the Metadata System used by OBVIO - Observatory of Violence of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. The R programming language was used to select the variables of interest and the Microsoft Excel program was used to obtain tables. From this data, tables of the occurrences of robberies and thefts distributed in the Metropolitan Region of Natal were produced. As a result, we observed that most robberies and thefts occur in 8 municipalities in the Metropolitan Region of Natal, with Natal and Parnamirim having the highest occurrences. The highest records are of car and motorcycle thefts, with males being the main victims, aged 35 to 64 years.
