Having as object of study a research developed in Natal where an instrument of data collection was applied to acting librarians, trainees and scholars. The objectives of the work are to reinforce the importance of studies in the area of management for librarians, to provide relevant data for the development of future scientific research on the subject, as well as to demonstrate which type of leadership predominates in the information units in Natal and how leadership can influence the behavior of team members in information units. The methodology of the research was based on bibliographical researches, application of printed questionnaire and digital for data collection. And from the tabulation of the data, the survey shows that most librarians interviewed do not present a self-assessment of their position within the organization, nor do they feel motivated in their work places to seek knowledge that can add to their profession, in addition most of the professionals present an autocratic leadership.
