Since 2022, the two cities, in partnership, have been promoting the Serra Verde Community Winter Festival. Therefore, the general objective of this article is to identify the positive and negative aspects of the Serra Verde Community Winter Festival event (Lajes Pintadas/São Tomé/RN) for the economy and the local community. The mobilized theoretical framework understands events as an important field of study in the area of tourism, which can attract financial incentives, give visibility and bring benefits to the municipality and/or host community. A descriptive research with a qualitativequantitative approach was used, through the application of 1 questionnaire with the event organizer and 1 questionnaire for 10 residents who worked in the areas of gastronomy, crafts and bar on the two days of the Festival de Winter. The positive points listed were visibility for the community, the possibility of earning extra income, in addition to promoting the community and local products. The negative points were the poor quality of the internet at the event, instability in the electricity supply and the lack of investment by community residents in inns, restaurants and snack bars.
