Estado nutricional de vitamina E pela investigação do alfa-tocoferol sérico em puérperas após suplementação com diferentes doses de RRR-alfa-tocoferol. 2021. 53f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Nutrição) - Departamento de Nutrição, Departamento de Nutrição, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2021https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/39975Introduction: Vitamin E is extremely important in the early stages of life until the child's postnatal development, with participation in the early development of the embryo, implantation, placental maturation and in the protection of the fetus against oxidative stress. The objective of the study was to evaluate the concentration of serum alpha-tocopherol in postpartum women after receiving RRR-alpha-tocopherol supplementation, to establish the nutritional status in vitamin E. Methodology: A prospective, controlled, randomized and parallel study was carried out with 36 puerperal women attended at two maternity hospitals in Natal-RN. In the immediate postpartum period, participants were divided into three groups: control (CG), without intervention; supplemented 1 (GS1), which received the 400UI dose of RRR-alpha-tocopherol and supplemented 2 (GS2), which received 800UI. 5mL of blood were collected on the 1st, 20th and 60th days postpartum. Alpha-tocopherol was analyzed by High Performance Liquid Chromatography. Results and Discussion: The mean serum alpha-tocopherol concentrations referring to the immediate postpartum (0h) corresponded to 1285.6 ± 250.5 μg / dL in the CG, 1299.6 ± 401.7 μg / dL in the GS 1 and at 1246.3 ± 146.5 μg / dL in GS 2, with no significant difference between them (p> 0.05). The diagnosis of nutritional status in vitamin E was adequate at the first moment after delivery. In the follow-up of the study, significant differences were observed on the 20th day between the CG and GS1 (p = 0.029) and GC and GS2 (p = 0.038) where there was an increase in the concentrations of GS 1 and GS2 when compared with the CG; and on the 60th day between CG and GS1 (p <0.001), GC and GS2 (p = 0.002) and GS1 and GS2 (p = 0.001), GS1 showed higher serum concentrations when compared to CG, and GS2 had higher concentrations when compared to GC and GS1. The EVD was 8.3% (n = 3), being 2.8% in the control group (n = 1) and the supplemented group 1 was 5.5% (n = 2). Conclusion: Supplementation was effective because it kept higher RRR-alpha-tocopherol concentrations up to 60 days after delivery with better results for the group that was supplemented with 800 IU RRR-alpha-tocopherol. EVD was not observed for GS2 only 60 days after delivery in the other groups.Suplemento alimentarPuerpérioSoro materno.Vitamina EEstado nutricional de vitamina E pela investigação do alfa-tocoferol sérico em puérperas após suplementação com diferentes doses de RRR-alfa-tocoferolNutritional status of vitamin E and research of serum alpha-tocopherol in puerperas after supplementation with different doses of RRR-alpha-tocopherobachelorThesisBioquímica da Nutrição
