That becomes worse in the first years of the Elementary School when the students need to appropriate of concepts, many times, starting from the abstraction. Based onthese ideas, this article has as objective identifies the importance of games and playings in the mathematics classes of the beginning years as didactic-pedagogic resource. Methodologically, it is a bibliographical and interpretative research. In theoretical terms, the discussions are anchored in specialists of the area as Starepravo (2009), Smole, Diniz and Cândido (2007), besides documents as PCN of Mathematics (1997), among others.
