Quando os moinhos de vento se tornam dragões: os parques eólicos e seus aerogeradores de conflitos na Ponta do Tubarão/RN. Orientador: Dr. Mozart Fazito Rezende Filho. 2025. 125f. Dissertação (Mestrado em Turismo) - Centro de Ciências Sociais Aplicadas, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/63128Introduction: In recent years, Brazil has invested in wind energy, with Rio Grande do Norte being one of the states that stands out in this segment. Recent studies show that communities impacted by the construction of wind farms face a series of environmental, social and cultural consequences (Hofstaetter, 2016). Within the state, Ponta do Tubarão stands out in this scenario of a community that experiences the consequences of wind power on a daily basis. Objective: to analyze the relationship between wind energy and the socio-environmental impacts in the Ponta do Tubarão State Sustainable Development Reserve/RN, investigating how wind farms influence the process of local development and tourism. Methodology: a predominantly qualitative research approach, of an analytical nature, with the best strategy to answer the research problem being the case study. The data collection technique will be based on document review, secondary databases and semi-structured interviews. The analysis will be carried out by crossing secondary data with Foucaultian discourse analysis, following Hajer's methodology (2006), already used in conflict contexts (FAZITO et al., 2016). Final considerations: The research analyzed the impacts of the expansion of wind energy in the Ponta do Tubarão State Sustainable Development Reserve (RDSEPT), highlighting conflicts between economic development, environmental preservation and community participation. The installation of wind farms negatively affected the landscape, biodiversity and tourism, one of the main local economic activities, in addition to highlighting the lack of dialogue and participatory governance. The discourse analysis revealed tensions between the interests of companies, governments and communities, reinforcing the need for more inclusive and sustainable public policies. It is concluded that the energy transition must integrate economic development, environmental preservation and community leadership to ensure equity and social justice.Acesso AbertoTurismoDesenvolvimento turísticoTransição energéticaParque eólicoParticipação comunitáriaQuando os moinhos de vento se tornam dragões: os parques eólicos e seus aerogeradores de conflitos na Ponta do Tubarão/RNWhen windmills become dragons: wind farms and their conflict wind generators in Ponta do Tubarão/RNmasterThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::TURISMO
