However, several fundamental questions about the mechanism behind cosmic ac celeration remain unanswered. Among these open questions, the possibility of a non-minimal coupling between the two major energy components in the universe, i.e. the dark matter and the dark energy, has been widely investigated in order to answer some of these issues. In this work, we study the original model proposed by Wang and Meng, which is based on the interaction among dark components of the universe.
