Impacto do bochecho de carboidrato na percepção de esforço em praticantes de cross training. 2024. 16 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Nutrição) - Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde do Trairi, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Santa Cruz, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/61222Introduction: The ergogenic effect of carbohydrates (CHO) is well established, but gastrointestinal discomfort reported by athletes may impair performance. This study investigated CHO mouth rinsing as an alternative strategy during cross-training. Methodology: The study, conducted in Santa Cruz, RN, involved 7 Cross training participants (over 18 years old, both genders) in two cycles of mouth rinsing with CHO solutions (MR-CHO) and placebo (MR-P). In the first cycle, participants fasted for 3 hours before training, while in the second cycle, they consumed a snack. Mouth rinses were performed at 15, 30, and 45 minutes, with perceived effort assessed using the adapted Borg Scale (2000) at 18, 33, and 48 minutes, in a blinded protocol for participants and researchers. Results: At 18 minutes, perceived effort was lower with CHO mouth rinsing (M = 2.28) compared to placebo (M = 3.57), showing a significant effect (p = 0.049; d = 0.932). No differences were observed under other conditions.Attribution-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/3.0/br/Cross trainingBochechoCarboidratoEsforçoImpacto do bochecho de carboidrato na percepção de esforço em praticantes de cross trainingCarbohydrate mouth rinse impact on perceived exertion in cross-training practitionersbachelorThesis
