For this it is important that courses and institutions be evaluated, thus strengthening higher education in the country. The Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte - UFRN issued Resolution No. 181/2017 - CENSEPE, of November 14, 2017, which presents guidelines on the policies for improving the quality of undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by it. The objective of this study is to analyze the quality improvement policy of the UFRN Distance Geography Undergraduate course, based on the analysis of Resolution 181/2017-CONSEPE, which establishes the need to carry out the annual planning within the coordinations of the undergraduate courses in order to identify the gaps in these courses, with these identifications serving as a basis for the restructuring of the Pedagogical Plans of the Courses - PPC's undergraduate courses at UFRN. The methodology used in this work is based on the bibliographic review of the topic, the case analysis and the collection of data in loco in the institution, as well as interview with the person in charge of the coordination of the course under analysis. Based on the data obtained, we are led to understand that the Planning process is not simple and should not be used in a random way.
