In its traditional form, this method requires the assumption of the seismic wave propagation velocity, which is typically obtained through inversion attempts. The objective of this undergraduate project is to implement the Geiger algorithm to determine the source parameters in a single inversion. To achieve this goal, the Geiger method is implemented to invert event arrival times and determine hypocentral coordinates. The algorithm is validated through tests with synthetic and real data, simulating a network of 10 stations with a central earthquake. The method’s effectiveness is assessed under the presence of noise in the synthetic data, demonstrating the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed approach for hypocentral locationLocalização hipocentralMétodo de GeigerProblema inversoHypocenter locationGeiger methodInverse problemLocalização hipocentral utilizando método de GeigerbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::CIENCIA DA COMPUTACAO::METODOLOGIA E TECNICAS DA COMPUTACAO::SISTEMAS DE INFORMACAO
