Avaliação da gestão dos resíduos sólidos em municípios do Rio Grande do Norte através de indicadores de sustentabilidade. 2022. 68f.: il. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Engenharia Ambiental) - Centro de Tecnologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2022.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/46002The incorrect and untreated final disposal of solid waste has been causing major problems to the environment and harming human health. In 2020, Law 14,026 ratified the need to prepare basic sanitation plans, establishes new goals and performance indicators and mechanisms for the evaluation of results, as well as a schedule for the universalization of basic sanitation services. This work aimed to determine the sustainability index related to solid waste management through a set of indicators applied to municipalities in different regions of the State of Rio Grande do Norte. The methodology chosen is based on the work developed by POLAZ (2008) which proposed 15 indicators to assess the sustainability of solid waste management and each indicator can express three conditions of trend towards sustainability: Favorable, Unfavorable or Very Unfavorable. In the end, of the indicators analyzed, only 1 of them (6.67%) was said as Favorable and the rest resulted in 13.3% Unfavorable and 80% Very Unfavorable, characterizing an unsustainable scenario. Thus, it is concluded that the analyzed municipalities are unsustainable in terms of urban solid waste management.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/InstrumentosSaneamentoResíduos sólidos urbanosDesenvolvimento sustentávelUrban solid wasteSanitationInstrumentsSustainable developmentAvaliação da gestão dos resíduos sólidos em municípios do Rio Grande do Norte através de indicadores de sustentabilidadeEvaluation of solid waste management in municipalities of Rio Grande do Norte through sustainability indicatorsbachelorThesis
