The research is classified as descriptive, since its object of work was the description of the characteristics of a given population, in its budget and financial details. For data collection, 121 questionnaires were applied to survey the financial situation of families in Natal, with regard to organization, control, planning, spending, levels of financial education. The survey also addressed issues such as indebtedness, access to financial products and financial education. Among the findings, the study revealed housing, transport and food as the largest expenditures of the Natal population, similar to what the POF 2017-2018 showed.
