In the context of this health reform, the responsibility of the State for workers' health emerges. There were several achievements in this field, culminating, in 2002, with the creation of the National Network for Integral Attention to Workers' Health (RENAST). In 2018, the Rio Grande do Norte State Department of Public Health (SESAP/RN) established the Occupational Safety and Health Care Centers (NASSTs). In 2020, the State Center for Attention to Occupational Safety and Health (NESST) was implemented, in order to advise, regulate, plan, coordinate, establish guidelines and integrate actions in the areas of occupational health that are developed by NASSTs . The present study is the result of a collaborative action research with an analytical approach, which aimed to intervene, describe the implementation and analyze the contributions of NESSTRN to SESAP/RN. The intervention took place in stages: initially, the situational diagnosis of the NASSTs was carried out, to guide the NESST action plan. In the second moment, the process of implantation of the State Nucleus of Attention to the Safety and Health of the Worker is described. In the third moment, representatives of the NASSTs were heard, who expressed the strengths and weaknesses of the NESST. In the last step, the dimensioning by Regional Health Units (URSAP) is presented, which includes the existing centers, according to minimum dimensioning, proposed implementation of new NASSTS by region. In addition, units that do not yet have NASST are listed. The results point to important contributions of the NESSTSESAP/RN to the NASSTs and to the strengthening and articulation of health and safety care policies in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.Acesso AbertoSaúde do trabalhadorSegurança do trabalhadorSUSSaúde públicaImplantação do Núcleo Estadual de Atenção à Segurança e à Saúde do Trabalhador(a): contribuições para a Secretaria de Estado da Saúde Pública do Rio Grande do NorteImplementation of the State Center for Health and Safety of Workers (a): contributions to the State Secretariat for Public Health of Rio Grande do NortemasterThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
