However, the urban growth associated with the development of economic activities in the city promoted changes in the landscape and consequently in the vegetation, thus, research is needed that will contribute to the local land use planning. This research aimed to carry out the preliminary characterization of the vegetation cover of the municipality. For this, maps of vegetation cover, soil classes, relief, hypsometry and land cover use were elaborated. This cartographic base subsidized the preliminary morphodynamic analysis of the study area. The results indicate that the vegetation coverage of the municipality is altered in relation to the activities of use and occupation of the land, which are agriculture, livestock and textile industry. Stable and inter-grid environments are also predominant in the municipality, with stable areas more susceptible to human intervention and unstable areas with less human activity in the natural landscape. Thus, it is extremely important to develop studies aimed at the continuous monitoring of vegetation in semiarid environments, as these are associated with the development of various socioeconomic activities.SemiáridoPaisagem naturalCaatingaMorfodinâmicabachelorThesis
