The first experiments in Brazil, begun in the 1950s and others years later, but did not have good results. Resumed decades later by the Mais Educação government program, it became a project that aims to introduce full-time experience in Brazilian public schools, with the aim of providing greater educational and social equality. Considering data from the Instituto de Pesquisas Econômicas Aplicadas (Ipea) on the Indice de Vulnerabilidade Social (Social Vulnerability Index - IVS), which indicate in the Northeast a large concentration of municipalities with high IVS (47.7%) and very high IVS (32.4% ), As well as the guidelines of the Mais Educação Program, as a physical educator, I was worried about considering to what extent the possibility of children and young people getting involved in drugs, crimes or victims of some kind of violence among Participants in the program's physical activities, even in areas of the city with high IVS. Through exploratory research, this study had as objective to assess what may be the positive influence of the contents of physical education on student-citizen training, inserted in the perspective of the Mais Educação Program in schools in the northern zone of Natal / RN. It was also deliberated about the permanence of the students in the school for a longer period, if in an organized and productive way, it allows knowledge and development of their physical and intellectual capacities. It was also analyzed how physical activities present in the Mais Educação program have the potential to promote values and attitudes that reduce the chances of students getting involved in extra-schools situations of violence. The results show that physical activities, in the context of the full-time school, complement the social protection network of students, avoiding themselves getting exposed to situations of vulnerability and crime. The study concludes by demonstrating that sports practices contribute to the acquisition of new attitudinal responses that help students in their training as learners and citizens better prepared for life.
