This is a qualitative research, guided by the critical-dialectical method, developed from a broad bibliographical review, documentary analysis of medical records and field research with a structured interview directed to a Nursing professional inserted (a) in the research locus scenario, using the content analysis technique. The results demonstrate that children and adolescents from Rio Grande do Norte with congenital heart defects face several challenges in accessing health services, considering that there is no structured care network for this public, which implies that their realities are crossed by inequities and social inequalities. in health arising from capitalism, intensified in the context of counter-reform, super precariousness and privatization of health.
