Due to their technological characteristics and because they do not undergo as rigid control as more traditional mass media, digital media allow publication and consumption of more diverse content by a significantly larger group of producers, from those without training and experience until very experienced professionals. Research on communication mediated by digital technologies has addressed a variety of topics, where it is possible to highlight content analysis and professional performance of producers. Little is known about audiovisual production process for digital media. In this context, this work aimed to investigate the demands of audiovisual content producers for digital media. Data were collected by an online questionnaire, between May and August 2021. They were analyzed by descriptive statistics and content analysis. The 43 participants reported a variety of demands, among which it is possible to highlight: specific courses related to audiovisual production, more time to produce content, more and better equipment, larger and better trained teams. Some participants reported difficulties in editing audio and video, in addition to they do not know how to use editing software. Future work may take some of these demands as a starting point for an investigation that seeks to understand it in depth, propose interventions and assess its impacts.
