Cartoon, as a media product, has a cultural pedagogy, because it is possible to teach children through a power system where there is a way of live, think and act. In contact with those artifacts, children reproduce discuss, actions, conflicts that bring questions related to gender identity composition based on the way they understand boys and girls social paper. In this sense, this study aims to investigate possible implications of cartoon characters in the constitution of children gender identity with five or six years old in a public institution to children education in Natal/RN. Cultural Studies in Education from post-structuralism field make possible focusing on, in the cartoons, schemes and associations that surround children subjects and their identities. Methodologically, this study is based on post-critics theorizations and, through bricolage, it makes a cutting and a pasting of some proceedings to approach scenery and research subjects, analyzing them by observation, field diary, interview and focal group. This study focuses on children on the 4th level of children education, listening and analyzing their discuss related to their comprehension about what means be a girl or a boy, taking as base cartoon characters that they watch routinely. Those analyzes detach two categories that emerge from this study, based on them, it is possible to assert that images of cartoon characters create way of life and different social papers based on gender, specially by: 1) body morphology; and 2) clothes and accessories. Subjects, boys and girls, are guided by the models of beauty, amiability, strength and intelligence built by the characters. In addition to this, it detaches characters reinforcement of consumption idea, by products linked to their image, stimulating children to desire those toys and objects related to princesses and heroes.
