In terms of its indirect effects on all other economic activities, such as the use of handicrafts, for example, it is important to analyse the perception of artisans. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze by means of a screening the places that use recycling as a source of income in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte and take the perception of the artisans regarding the use of recycling in the places visited. In order to collect the data, the main procedure was through interviews with shopkeepers and artisans. The interviewes are 10 workers, 9 in the neighborhood of Ponta Negra and 1 in the craftsmen's showroom of UFRN and their testimonies are about facts not yet reported bibliographically. A questionnaire was prepared with 8 questions that were relevant to the data collection. 70% of marketers considered recycling as a good financial income and do not need another source to supplement the familiar income.
