In these terms, we aim to analyze the representations of the Atheneu norte-riograndense in the Messages of the Governors of Rio Grande do Norte in the First Republic (1889-1930). The research is historical and documental, being the Messages of the Governors of Rio Grande do Norte of this period the documental corpus for the investigation. Theoretically, made use of the understandings of representation according to Roger Chartier and secondary education for Chervel (1992) and Haidar (1972).
