Cobertura jornalística internacional dos incêndios na Amazônia: uma análise do discurso informativo nos Jornais The New York Times e Le Monde. 2020. 81f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Jornalismo) - Departamento de Comunicação Social, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2020.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/38426In 2019, during the dry months, the Brazilian Amazon was the victim of thousands of criminal fires. The chaos of the situation, together with the controversial actions taken by the Brazilian government and the president Jair Bolsonaro, generated a diplomatic crisis between Brazil and Europa never seen before. But what did the international press say about the country? To answer this question, this research aims to discover, through the discourse analysis proposed by the Semiolinguistics Theory (CHARAUDEAU, 2016), the possible meanings created by the coverage of The New York Times and Le Monde newspapers, and whether they can or cannot collaborate for negating Brazil's international reputation. In the found results, it was proved that both newspapers constructed an unfavorable and pessimistic image of the Brazilian nation and, notably, of its head of state. Such portrait, when inserted in an international context of fights against climate change, can generate economic and social consequences for Brazil, and repercussions beyond the frontier.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Jornalismo Internacional; Relações Internacionais; Análise do Discurso; Amazônia.International Journalism; International Relations; Discourse analysis; Amazon.Cobertura jornalística internacional dos incêndios na Amazônia: uma análise do discurso informativo nos Jornais The New York Times e Le MondeInternational journalistic fire coverage in the Amazon: an analysis of informational discourse in the newspapers The New York Times and Le MondebachelorThesis
