Although the experience before attempt be involved in historical and cultural facts, there are also single elements from each individual in particular contexts. This study aims to understand previous and post experience in a suicide attempt through a qualitative investigation under a case study methodological perspective, with a fiction-named participant Jon. Information was obtained through semi-structured interview and was analyzed from Dialectical Hermeneutics, based on a critical and reflexive interpretative matrix. It was possible to identify some of the reasons, fantasies and thoughts that antecede the attempt, as well as some factors associated to the overcoming process.
