This study presents a comparative analysis of two construction standards for medium voltage overhead distribution networks: the compact standard, with covered conductors, and the bare-wire network standard, with exposed conductors. The analysis is based on project carried out by Neoenergia Cosern, where the Original Accounting Value (VOC) and the New Replacement Value (VNR) of Minor Components (COM) were evaluated according to the criteria of the Banco de Preços Referenciais (BPR). The results show that, although the compact standard is more suitable for environments with spatial constraints, the bare-wire network standard stands out in terms of economic efficiency, providing a higher return to the Base de Remuneração Regulatória for each real invested.
