Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Engenharia Civil) - Centro de Tecnologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2019.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/40751In this work, mathematical models with increasing degree of complexity were used to idealize shear wall structures with U, C and E cross section, using the commercial code ADINA, based on the Finite Element Method. Four models were proposed: the first one, featured by a one-dimensional element governed by the Euler-Bernoulli’s theory; the second one, also featured by a one-dimensional element, but governed by Timoshenko’s theory; the third, consisting of beam elements in vertical arrangement; the fourth, described by a mesh of shell elements. The results were compared, depending on the mathematical model, to the analytical solutions available in the technical literature and/or those obtained from the analysis of a more complex mathematical model and whose outcome is closer to reality, identified as comprehensive mathematical model. It was verified that the one-dimensional modeling considering shear deformation leads to satisfactory results asserting the impositions of NBR 6118:2014 and Eurocode 2 (2004) regarding its consideration. However, the mathematical model consisting of vertical beam arrangement still requires adjustments in order to adequately represent the behavior of the shear wall.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Pilar-paredeNúcleo estruturalModelos matemáticosMétodo dos Elementos FinitosAnálise de modelos matemáticos de pilar-parede pelo MEFAnalysis of shear-walls mathematical models using FEMbachelorThesis
