The main objective of this study is to investigate the possible reasons that may contribute to the truancy of students in the Educação de Jovens e Adultos model in the context of SARS-COV2 epidemic, specifically, the paper aims to characterize the teachers and students profiles to enhance the comprehension around the phenom of truancy; analyze the number of students registered before and during the pandemic and describe the possible reasons that contribute for truancy at said school. This research was methodologically developed by means of interviews and questionaires applied among students, teachers and coordinators of said institution in order to collect data. The aim is to understand how challenging was for the students to remain in EJA model even with the llimiations caused by the SARS-COV-2 pandemic, it was possible to notice, according to the teachers, that despite well planned lessons, in which the teachers themselves declare that they didn't really dominate, they still had trouble with specific subjects, so the students that had more trouble learning, opted out of the school.
