Our objective is to theoretically discuss the role of written language in the context of Early Childhood Education, reflecting on its limits and possibilities. We will see a little of the history of Early Childhood Education and conceptions of children and childhood, and some important parameters for early childhood education according to NCP, RCNEI, and some authors who talk about reading and writing in Early Childhood Education.
