Anthropometric data (weight, height and waist circumference), biochemical data (HDL-c, triglycerides and fasting glucose), physical activity and blood pressure measurements were collected and analyzed. The data were evaluated by descriptive statistics and the chi-square and student t tests were applied. For all tests, a confidence level of 95% was used and p-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The practice of physical activity was significantly associated with sex, with the male public being more active. In addition, of the 124 patients, 38 (30.65%) had 3 or more criteria for metabolic syndrome. Significant differences were identified between the averages of WC, triglycerides and blood glucose, which showed higher values in individuals with MS. HDL was also significantly associated with MS criteria, with values below the recommended. Conclusion: A higher frequency of PA was observed in male adolescents. In addition, it was evidenced that individuals with MS had higher mean values of fasting CC, glucose, triglycerides and lower HDL.Síndrome metabólicaPrática de atividade físicaAdolescentesPrática de atividade física, síndrome metabólica e seus fenótipos em adolescentes com excesso de pesoPractice of physical activity, metabolic syndrome and its phenotypes in overweight adolescentesbachelorThesis
